How to Check Your Registration

Look yourself up to confirm that you're registered, that your address is current, and where your ballot will be mailed.

If you've moved or changed your name since you last registered, update your registration online.

How to Register Online

Register or update your registration at registertovote.ca.gov (opens in a new tab). It also checks whether you're eligible to vote. The last day to register online for this election is Monday, October 19.

Not registered in Santa Clara County yet? You can almost certainly still vote here: register with your address here, the same way.

Missed the deadline? You can still register and vote in person.

How to Track Your Ballot

Where's My Ballot? Track your California ballot (opens in a new tab)

Sign up for Where's My Ballot? (opens in a new tab) to get a text, email or call when your ballot is mailed, when it's received, and when it's counted.

If you're already registered, your ballot should arrive by October 12. If you register after October 5 and track your ballot, you'll get a message when your ballot is mailed.

  • Your ballot never arrived? Go to any vote center from October 24 to get a replacement ballot, or vote in person there.
  • You returned your ballot but it hasn't shown up as received? Mail can be delayed. If it's been about two weeks, call the Registrar of Voters at 408-299-VOTE (8683). If it still hasn't shown up by November 2, go to a vote center for help. If you vote in person before your mail ballot is received, your in-person ballot is the one that counts.

How to Register in Person

After October 19, you can still register and vote on the same day (opens in a new tab) at any Santa Clara County vote center, from October 24 through 8 p.m. on Election Day, November 3. It only takes a few minutes once you're there.

If you register after October 19, you won't be mailed a ballot, so plan to vote at the vote center when you register.
